Anastasia State Park
« on: January 05, 2009, 04:10:53 PM »
This is an absolutely gorgeous CG in St. Augustine Beach. The beach is about 1/4 mi from the campground and you can either walk over or park in one of the large lots. There 139 sites in 6 loops, and the sites are VERY well separated from each other by the thick vegetation. The sites are very clean, and they're easily acessable. They seem to be raked as soon as each camper leaves. Each loop has its own bath house, they seem to be very well maintained and each bath house has laundry facilities. We stayed in the Coquina Loop which seems to have the larger sites.
It was very windy when we stayed here, and there was only a light breeze in the site. We definitely want to spend more time here. Old St. Augustine is only a few minutes away and is well worth the time to explore.

Perhaps a location for the '09-'10 Open Ender. ;)

Or would that be the pelican plunge?

Intriguing idea...

That could work for me.  I'm up on that idea.

We've been considering spending 7 or 8 days in Florida next Christmas/New Years, spending New Years at Anastasia, and coming home on the 2nd and 3rd. We just weren't there long enough this year.
